LOCAL LUNCH LADY PREPARES CHICKEN (AND RHINO!) TO “ROCK” YOUR WORLD! Her first book “Rock and Rhino Learn Responsibility” hit virtual shelves on June 1, 2011
SHAWNEE, Kansas (June, 2011) – Local author, Margie Taylor Lisbona, recently released her first children’s book, “Rock and Rhino Learn Responsibility.” Lisbona will be featured at a Launch Party and Book Signing on June 29th, 6:00pm to 9:00pm at KC Sports Grille in Falcon Plaza, 10064 Woodland Road, Lenexa. Come check out this new neighborhood restaurant and meet the author. She will be signing books and sharing stories of your soon-to-be best friends. Books will be available for purchase at the party.
“Rock and Rhino Learn Responsibility” is the first in a series of children’s self-help books that offers an exciting and engaging way for kids to have fun and learn at the same time. Divided into three parts, it showcases the lovable and quirky Rock and Rhino demonstrating fun and easy examples of what not to do (part one) and what to do (part two) in everyday childhood situations. The third part of the book is for “adults only,” and includes information and tools required to adjust inappropriate behaviors. “Rock and Rhino is great for the little ones because it gives fun examples and even FUNNER words that all kids can understand. Parents will like the story aspect that will engage their children like a typical storybook would, and appreciate the lessons learned – more-than-likely without their even knowing it – with a not-so-typical teaching aspect to the book.” – Beth Knight
The 45-page innovative read is on shelves and online, also available in ebook format, and can be purchased through the publisher, FriesenPress, as well at other national chains.
About Margie Taylor Lisbona
Margie has over thirty years of professional experience ranging from marketing to health care, but the most rewarding were her years spent in the education system, specifically with elementary and special needs children. In 2006, while caring for her ailing mother and great nephew, she started writing and “Rock and Rhino” were born. Now, her days are spent writing, baking at the local elementary school, or just being a grandma (YaYa to those under three feet tall). She is excited and determined to continue sharing the tales of Rock and Rhino with both young and old. Collaborator Brock Pfannenstiel is now in the 5th grade. His transformation from “Rhino” to “ROCKSTAR” is a living testimonial that “Rock and Rhino Learn Responsibility” works.
